{"id":5236,"date":"2018-10-16T00:53:04","date_gmt":"2018-10-16T00:53:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.safemap.com\/en\/?page_id=5236"},"modified":"2024-04-23T02:32:33","modified_gmt":"2024-04-23T02:32:33","slug":"riskdelta-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.safemap.com\/en\/programs\/riskdelta-2\/","title":{"rendered":"riskDELTA"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>riskDELTA<\/h1>\n<h3>Intent<\/h3>\n<p>The riskDELTA workshop, has as its goal the development of\u00a0\u201ccritical risk awareness\u201d \u2013 the focus is on the PSIF&amp;C (Potential Serious Injury, Fatal and Catastrophic) risks.<\/p>\n<h3>Approach<\/h3>\n<p>The program is based on the most recent thinking in risk management and risk psychology, and is unlike any other traditional safety awareness program. Research showed that serious accidents are complex events, which result from the random combination of many factors and variables, often after long periods of latency. \u2018Awareness\u2019 is not an issue that people can be \u2018reminded of\u2019,<br \/>\nand complacency is not a \u2018weakness\u2019 or an \u2018attitude\u2019. The fundamental issue, and correct terminology, is \u2018redundancy-induced overconfidence\u2019. The science behind the riskDELTA workshop is well researched<br \/>\n(Kahneman) and key is to ensure that risk events are constantly created to ensure a high level of risk readiness &#8211; just like an accident or an event causes a surge in awareness after the event. In this case, the approach is to use on-site scenario development, consequence modeling and \u2018lateral thinking techniques to identify new risks, to test\/challenge critical risks and to create the readiness to respond to risk.<\/p>\n<h3>Deployment<\/h3>\n<p>This 1.5-day program is conducted on-site only and divided into:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A 4-hour classroom activity (afternoon of day 1) of experiential training of risk pattern and recognition skills, and training in a critical risk assessment tool.<\/li>\n<li>A 4-hour field exercise in actual workplaces, where small teams conduct so-called SIXeye risk searches, with cameras.<\/li>\n<li>A 4-hour analysis and assessment classroom activity, in which risk profiles are developed, and includes feedback to site management on the various findings that can be actioned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>D<\/strong>eep \u2013 the embedded risk culture and systemic causes<br \/>\n<strong>E<\/strong>limination \u2013 combining engineering and human controls<br \/>\n<strong>L<\/strong>atent \u2013 identifying hidden and concealed exposures<br \/>\n<strong>T<\/strong>riggers \u2013 several failures that combine randomly to create a unique event<br \/>\n<strong>A<\/strong>ccidents \u2013 outcomes that have serious or fatal consequences<\/p>\n<h3>Deliverables<\/h3>\n<p>\u2018Mind methods\u2019 to identify hidden risk and risk patterns in work environments<br \/>\nTools to calculate risk in terms of likelihood, exposure and impact, using the RISKcalculator\u00ae<br \/>\nSkills to test and apply critical and routine risk controls for mitigation<br \/>\nTechniques in \u2018rapid risk recognition\u2019 and \u2018rapid risk reduction\u2019<br \/>\nCapabilities to identify and control risk at the sharp end of the business<\/p>\n<h3>Impact<\/h3>\n<p>An in-depth \u2018test\u2019 of the effectiveness of current critical risk controls<br \/>\nProvide employees with insights and entirely new perspectives on risk<br \/>\nA deep understanding of the human factors at play in the work place<br \/>\nThe ability to engage workers in a proactive and simple approach to risk management<br \/>\nThe disposition to be
