My 30 years of experience in Occupational health, safety and environmental coordination and management have enabled me to hone my skills as a well organised responsible multi-tasker who thrives in a busy, dynamic environment. I am valued for my positive attitude, professionalism, attention to detail, and resourcefulness, as well as my excellent communication skills. I am an energetic and versatile problem-solver with a genuine interest in implementing and maintaining best practices. - Coordinating and managing SHEC teams of up to 65 employees. Working at a strategic level, building relationships and developing employees\u2019 skills to influence excellence in performance.
- Analysis of data and providing meaningful statistics and recommendations to Top management team, in a timely manner to assist in continued improvement of workplace health and safety. Advise on legal impact and liability.
- Experience in handling crisis situations requiring sound judgment, quick, firm decision-making and expediting action.
- Efficient management of the R42 million SHE budget to ensure optimal development and implementation of interventions to improve and sustain excellent SHE performance throughout the mine.
- Ability to develop and implement comprehensive Health and Safety Management programs aligned with business objectives.
- Coordinate, manage and sustain a reliable and efficient integrated ISO management system for optimal SHE performance. Monitor the system to identify system failures – Internal and external audits.
- Initiate changes and implementation to SHE programs for optimal efficiency.
- Enforce a suitable and efficient system to record and manage all deviations\/risks\/impacts to ensure that recorded issues are addressed, monitored and closed.
- Building positive relationships with external stakeholders and communication effectively on a variety of levels.
- Effective and reliable liaising with the Inspectorate of the Department of Minerals and Energy, building sound and professional relationships.
- Ensure all levels of employees are well informed and trained in all applicable SHE related policies and procedures to comply with standards and legislation.
Facilitate and chair SHEC related meetings on high levels as well as interdepartmental.
Coordinate and conduct visible felt leadership program.

ACHIEVEMENTS<\/strong>
Achievements while I was the SHEC \/ Sustainability Manager:<\/p>\n\n\n\nGrootegeluk Complex employee numbers spiked at \u00b1 9000 during this time.
- Last fatality on Grootegeluk Complex \u2013 19 October 2012.
- LTIFR since 2010 below 0.10 against the Exxaro target of 0.15.
- Lowest LTIFR of 0.03 in 2016.
- ISO 9001 \/ ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 integrated certification since 2008.
- ISO 14001 \u2013 2015 and ISO 45001 \u2013 2018 integrated certification since 2018.
- Successful implementation and management of two Social and Labour plans since 2010.<\/p><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
