Steve Woodward joined SAFEmap International as the Chief Operating Officer in 2011 after a long career in the resources and manufacturing industries where he has held senior executive positions for over 25 years.
Steve has an outstanding mix of experience in executive line management and staff positions as well as having experience of working in Europe, Africa, South America and the USA. Steve has been a CEO and General Manager of businesses as well as heading up global HR functions and lectures on MBA programs. He is a certified coach and consultant to leadership teams in transition and specializes in learning and change.

Steve started his career in human resources in the resources industry becoming SVP: Human Resources of the Anglo American Mining company in Botswana in the late 1980’s.
His most recent corporate role was that of Chief Human Resources Officer for MillerCoors during which time he led the organizational aspects of the merger of the Miller and Coors organizations. In between these HR roles he has had extensive experience in operations, sales and general management, as the CEO of multi-plant brewing companies for SABMiller in Africa and Eastern Europe. He has wide ranging experience of managing large scale change programs across different cultures, both through mergers and acquisitions, as well as through the implementation of strategic change programs including IT (SAP – ERP systems), supply chain and sales and marketing programs.
His career at SABMiller included the MD role in two operations in South Africa and the CEO role for their Romanian, Slovakian, Exports and Czech operations.
Steve joined SAFEmap in 2011 and is responsible for the development of SAFEmap’s global business and partners, acilitation of leadership programs and leading culture change interventions with key clients.
